I started Physie at age 5 and have been doing it ever since!

In 2004, I started teaching the Ladies, and in 2006 I shared in teaching the Junior Club as well. Physie has and always will be an important part of my life, becoming a teacher has been even more rewarding.

The lovely relationships you build and the fun you have with the girls and women you teach is invaluable.

One major highlight was winning the ‘Keith Allen Memorial Trophy’ in 2013 and then again in 2014, 2016, 2017 & once again in 2020. This trophy is awarded for the highest point score in the Ladies Teams Competitions and I thank my Ladies for their continued outstanding efforts in achieving this.

On an Individual level, in 2016, we had 4 National Winners which is an amazing result for our Club!

My passion and dedication to our sport has been well rewarded, not only in success, but for the life-long friendships I have made and the shaping of young girls and women to be confident in themselves.

Physie empowers girls and ladies to achieve anything….I love teaching so much!

My passion for Physie began at 5 years of age.

I teach an amazing group of girls and I’m part of an equally amazing club.  Physie to me is pure enjoyment.  The happiness I get from both doing and teaching Physie is enormous.

From the ‘light bulb’ moments and the giving of “I’m proud of you” hugs on comp days, to watching nervously when your team’s on the floor, (I think it’s easier being in the team!) and experiencing the electric atmosphere on the Opera House stage.

I love what Physie stands for and the interactions I see weekly in class are little snippets of how valuable our sport is.

My first introduction to physie was at age 3 when I began in the Tiny Tots class at Sylvania and I have loved being involved as both a student and teacher at Sylvania physie ever since.
In 2011 I started teaching the Tiny Tots class and I have loved getting to introduce our little ones to the sport. It is so special to watch them meet their first physie friends and see their love for physie grow each week in class.
I have been lucky enough to also continue my teaching journey as part of the 9-12 years and 13-1st year teaching team. One of the most rewarding parts of my role as a teacher at Sylvania is being able to share a sport that gives girls and women the opportunity to develop confidence, a love of dance and friendships with their classmates that last a lifetime.

As soon as I could stand on two feet, my mum had me dancing at the back of my first physie class. Needless to say, I loved every minute. Since then, I’ve never known my life without physie!

I have the absolute pleasure of teaching the 5-8 years at Sylvania. I’m lucky to be able to share my passion for dance with young girls every week. I always look forward to watching them grow in their love for dancing, in their confidence and in the connections they form with each other.

Our sport is incredible in empowering women to dance and express themselves in an uplifting environment, and I love being a part of doing just that.

I was first introduced to physie at age 4 when my mum dragged me along to a class and I loved it! I have been doing physie ever since and have been lucky enough to grow up under the influence of the amazing teachers at Sylvania!

In 2021 I started teaching the tiny tots alongside Tearne who has guided me into becoming a teacher. I absolutely love seeing the tiny’s grow in confidence and improve their skills in a wonderful introductory class to physie. It’s such a pleasure to see their smiling faces every week as their love for physie grows!

I am very fortunate to be able to teach such a wonderful sport with such valuable principles for all girls and women, surrounded by amazing people!

My physie journey first began at the age of 3 in tiny tots, and I have loved every moment since.

I’m so excited to be able to join the teaching team for the ages 5 to 12 in 2023. I can’t wait to impart my knowledge and share my dancing passion with these Sylvania stars. To be able to help with the growth and enjoyment of the younger age groups is what I’m looking forward to the most!

My favourite physie moments are those that I can share with my classmates; seeing the team come together, trusting each other, and giving our everything out on the floor.

A fond physie memory would be the first time I performed at the Opera House. How electric it all felt, and the pure joy I experienced simply being on stage.
